Out With The Old / In With The New

So one of my new years' resolutions is to concentrating on developing a new, focused body of work. The key part of the equation is "focused" - I tend to get restless and get easily distracted, so I'm committing myself to staying the course this year. I have an idea for a series of text-based drawings, and I think I'm settled on both the materials (crayon and vellum) and process (cut & paste, draw, cut & paste, draw..) - now it's just down to execution. I'll write more about the concept and process later. In the meantime, here's some small studies I've done in preparation (all are crayon on vellum, done Dec. 2009):
